\"Plaque<\/a><\/em><\/strong>\u00c0 Hambourg-Harvestehude, une sororit\u00e9, une soi-disant association grecque de jeunes \u00e9tudiantes, a fond\u00e9 son premier chapitre sur le sol allemand. Les \u00e9tudiantes ne se font pas seulement remarquer par leur code vestimentaire inhabituel sur le campus.<\/p>\n

Elles ont leur si\u00e8ge \u00e0 Jungfrauenthal. In valle virginum<\/em><\/strong> – “Im Jungfrauenthal”, c’est ainsi que les s\u0153urs cisterciennes appelaient leur couvent \u00e0 Harvestehude. Aujourd’hui encore, de nombreux noms de rues t\u00e9moignent de l’\u00e9poque o\u00f9 le monast\u00e8re s’\u00e9tendait sur de vastes zones du quartier : Abteistra\u00dfe, Klostergarten, Nonnenstieg, Jungfrauenthal et Frauenthal n’en sont que quelques-uns.<\/p>\n

C’est ici, sur le terrain de l’ancien monast\u00e8re, non loin de l’universit\u00e9 et tout pr\u00e8s de l’Alster, que la Sororit\u00e9 Gamma Xi Delta (\u0393\u039e\u0394)<\/strong> am\u00e9ricaine a fond\u00e9 son premier chapitre en Allemagne. Les sororities<\/a> sont des associations d’\u00e9tudiantes qui vivent g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement toutes dans la m\u00eame maison, un peu comme un foyer d’\u00e9tudiantes, mais avec une plus grande exigence d’appartenance. “Grecque”, c’est le nom que portent ces associations, car elles sont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement nomm\u00e9es d’apr\u00e8s trois lettres de l’alphabet grec.<\/p>\n

Nous portons tous les m\u00eames v\u00eatements. C’est notre signe distinctif sur le campus : Torn Jeans et body<\/a>. Seule Danielle, notre pr\u00e9sidente, pouvait avoir l’id\u00e9e de ce code vestimentaire si particulier. Elle est originaire de Louisiane et \u00e9tait d\u00e9j\u00e0 membre de l’association Gamma Xi Delta l\u00e0-bas.
\nLes soutiens-gorge sont \u00e9galement interdits. Il y a diff\u00e9rentes raisons \u00e0 cette philosophie du “no bra”, mais il serait trop long de toutes les \u00e9num\u00e9rer ici. Convenons que la plupart d’entre nous trouvent plus agr\u00e9able de ne pas \u00eatre coinc\u00e9es dans ces choses inconfortables. Nous les portons par convention sociale. Peu d’entre nous n’ont jamais \u00e9t\u00e9 arr\u00eat\u00e9es par leur m\u00e8re qui leur disait : “Tu ne sortiras pas de la maison comme \u00e7a”. – Free the Nippel” est le mot d’ordre ici.
\nLes chaussures et les bas ne sont pas non plus autoris\u00e9s, du moins dans les pi\u00e8ces de la villa. Nous ne devons pas n\u00e9gliger nos pieds, nous occuper r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement de notre vernis \u00e0 ongles et de nos callosit\u00e9s. Celui qui cache ses pieds dans des chaussettes a facilement tendance \u00e0 b\u00e2cler ce genre de choses. C’est la raison officielle. Heureusement, il y a du chauffage par le sol dans toute la maison.
\nIci, \u00e0 Hambourg, nous sommes la premi\u00e8re sororit\u00e9. Le premier chapitre. Danielle est pour ainsi dire notre fondatrice. Au d\u00e9part, elle voulait juste \u00e9tudier quelques semestres dans l’Ancien Monde pour \u00e9largir ses horizons. Mais sans ses s\u0153urs et sans sa propre maison, elle s’est vite ennuy\u00e9e. Quand on est habitu\u00e9 \u00e0 la vie dans une sororit\u00e9, on ne peut bient\u00f4t plus se passer de ce type de cohabitation, nous a-t-elle expliqu\u00e9 un jour.
\nEt c’est ainsi qu’elle a longuement t\u00e9l\u00e9phon\u00e9 \u00e0 sa maison m\u00e8re et \u00e0 quelques anciens jusqu’\u00e0 ce qu’elle ait la permission et l’argent pour fonder une colonie. Elle a trouv\u00e9 la villa \u00e0 Harvestehude, juste \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 de l’Alster, et l’a achet\u00e9e avec le soutien du si\u00e8ge. Actuellement, trente-quatre \u00e9tudiantes vivent ici, mais il y a de la place pour une cinquantaine. Je ne sais pas qui vivait ici avant, mais il avait des tas de chambres – et les pi\u00e8ces correspondantes pour le personnel de service.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Les nouveaux membres sont initi\u00e9s apr\u00e8s un processus de s\u00e9lection en deux parties<\/strong> : Pendant le Rushing <\/strong>, les \u00e9tudiantes int\u00e9ress\u00e9es ont la possibilit\u00e9 de mieux conna\u00eetre la Sorority. Des \u00e9v\u00e9nements sp\u00e9ciaux sont organis\u00e9s \u00e0 cet effet, au cours desquels les membres et les personnes int\u00e9ress\u00e9es peuvent faire connaissance. La plupart du temps, cette phase comprend \u00e9galement une interview d\u00e9taill\u00e9e des nouveaux. A la fin du rushing, ceux dont les membres ont le sentiment qu’ils pourraient faire partie du groupe re\u00e7oivent une offre : le bid.<\/p>\n

Gamma Xi Delta prend son temps pour la deuxi\u00e8me phase, la phase Pledge<\/strong>. Les nouveaux membres potentiels s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9s peuvent vivre dans la villa pendant un semestre, mais sont sous surveillance particuli\u00e8re. Les soir\u00e9es de groupe ont lieu les mercredis et les dimanches. La sinc\u00e9rit\u00e9 de leur d\u00e9sir de devenir membre y est mise \u00e0 l’\u00e9preuve. Leur confiance est test\u00e9e dans diff\u00e9rents exercices. Il n’est pas rare que les limites soient consciemment explor\u00e9es. A la fin du semestre, il y a ce que l’on appelle la semaine d’enfer, au cours de laquelle les pledges sont encore une fois mis \u00e0 rude \u00e9preuve. Car seuls ceux qui soutiennent la Sorority \u00e0 100% ont une chance de devenir membres.<\/p>\n

\"Couverture<\/a>Dans ma nouvelle s\u00e9rie New-Adult <\/strong>“Gamma Xi Delta – La Sororit\u00e9 du Jungfrauenthal<\/a>” je parle de tout ce qui se passe dans le manoir. Des amiti\u00e9s qui s’y nouent, tout comme des querelles. Et bien s\u00fbr, des soir\u00e9es de groupe et des \u00e9preuves impos\u00e9es aux nouveaux membres potentiels.<\/p>\n

C’est ce qui se passe dans le premier tome<\/strong><\/a> autour de Nina, qui se retrouve sur la “chaise chaude<\/strong>” lors d’une de ces s\u00e9ances de groupe. Celui qui s’y assoit est le point de mire de la ronde. Chaque participant donne un feedback \u00e9crit. Ces notes sont lues plus tard, sans que la personne sur la chaise ne soit autoris\u00e9e \u00e0 se justifier. Mais pour Nina, c’est encore pire : on lui demande de s’asseoir nue sur la chaise. Les autres \u00e9tudiantes doivent noter ce qu’elles aimeraient faire avec elle si elles laissaient libre cours \u00e0 leur imagination.
