Sa force vient en partie de sa base litt\u00e9raire : le recueil de nouvelles <em>Intimacy<\/em> (1998) de Hanif Kureishi, qui explore les relations en d\u00e9composition, le d\u00e9sir sexuel et la fragilit\u00e9 de la proximit\u00e9 humaine. Ch\u00e9reau ne s\u2019est pas content\u00e9 d\u2019adapter le texte ; il en a extrait un noyau intense qui rend visibles l\u2019inexprim\u00e9, le silence et la douleur.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-intrigue-et-source-litteraire\">Intrigue et source litt\u00e9raire<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Au centre se trouve Jay, un barman divorc\u00e9 qui vit dans un appartement londonien. Chaque mercredi, une femme nomm\u00e9e Claire vient le voir. Ils font l\u2019amour en silence, de fa\u00e7on brute, sans dialogue ni tendresse. Peu \u00e0 peu, on comprend que Claire est mari\u00e9e et m\u00e8ne une vie parall\u00e8le qu\u2019elle ne partage jamais avec Jay. Lui, pourtant, veut davantage que son corps : il commence \u00e0 la suivre en dehors de la chambre, \u00e0 p\u00e9n\u00e9trer dans son monde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les nouvelles de Kureishi ne sont pas seulement un point de d\u00e9part, mais une chambre de r\u00e9sonance. Ses personnages \u00e9voluent entre d\u00e9sir et \u00e9loignement, entre qu\u00eate de soi et abandon de soi. Le film traduit ces tensions en images o\u00f9 corps et \u00e2mes se confondent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-dramaturgie-de-la-physicalite-a-la-revelation\">Dramaturgie \u2013 de la physicalit\u00e9 \u00e0 la r\u00e9v\u00e9lation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>La structure du film est presque rituelle. Tout commence par les rencontres silencieuses et hautement physiques entre Jay et Claire. Leurs corps parlent plus que leurs voix. Mais le film se refuse au pur voyeurisme : ces sc\u00e8nes sont construites de mani\u00e8re \u00e0 faire du silence le v\u00e9ritable centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce n\u2019est qu\u2019ensuite qu\u2019une trajectoire narrative se d\u00e9ploie. Jay observe le mari et la famille de Claire. Ce qui avait commenc\u00e9 comme un arrangement \u00e9rotique se transforme en drame psychologique. L\u2019intimit\u00e9 n\u2019est plus seulement affaire de peau, mais de curiosit\u00e9 dangereuse et de transgression dans la vie priv\u00e9e de l\u2019autre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-la-sexualite-comme-axe-dramatique\">La sexualit\u00e9 comme axe dramatique<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans <em>Intimacy<\/em>, la sexualit\u00e9 n\u2019est pas un ornement. Elle est l\u2019axe, le moteur, l\u2019\u00e9preuve. Les sc\u00e8nes explicites \u2013 jusqu\u2019\u00e0 des fellations non simul\u00e9es \u2013 ont fait scandale. Mais comme ces images ne servent pas \u00e0 exciter, mais \u00e0 r\u00e9v\u00e9ler le vide et le manque, le film n\u2019a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 class\u00e9 comme pornographique. Ce qui int\u00e9resse Ch\u00e9reau, c\u2019est l\u2019apr\u00e8s : les regards, la honte, le silence, le vide apr\u00e8s l\u2019orgasme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-le-role-pionnier-de-l-explicite\">Le r\u00f4le pionnier de l\u2019explicite<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Avec <em>Intimacy<\/em>, Ch\u00e9reau a ouvert une br\u00e8che en utilisant l\u2019explicite comme moyen d\u2019expression dramatique. Les corps nus ne sont pas id\u00e9alis\u00e9s, mais montr\u00e9s dans leur quotidiennet\u00e9 vuln\u00e9rable. Voil\u00e0 le geste radical : faire de la sexualit\u00e9 une langue, et non un spectacle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Si le film a \u00e9chapp\u00e9 \u00e0 la censure, c\u2019est parce qu\u2019il reste ancr\u00e9 dans l\u2019exploration psychologique. L\u2019\u00e9rotisme \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cran n\u2019est pas une fin en soi, mais un outil de caract\u00e9risation. Claire demeure \u00e9nigmatique, Jay reste inquiet, et leurs rencontres sexuelles deviennent la toile o\u00f9 se dessinent solitude et d\u00e9sir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-a-retenir-pour-les-auteur-e-s\">\u00c0 retenir pour les auteur\u00b7e\u00b7s<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Intimacy<\/em> montre que l\u2019\u00e9rotisme explicite peut fonctionner en litt\u00e9rature et au cin\u00e9ma lorsqu\u2019il est int\u00e9gr\u00e9 \u00e0 un arc \u00e9motionnel et psychologique profond. Il ne s\u2019agit pas de mettre en sc\u00e8ne le sexe pour lui-m\u00eame, mais d\u2019utiliser la sexualit\u00e9 comme langage dramaturgique.
