As-tu du mal \u00e0 donner \u00e0 tes personnages l’expression puissante de l’oppression qui rende justice \u00e0 sa complexit\u00e9 ? Te sens-tu d\u00e9pass\u00e9 par la profondeur des effets qu’elle peut avoir sur les niveaux mental, \u00e9motionnel, physique et cognitif d’une personne ? En tant qu’\u00e9crivains \u00e9rotiques, nous sommes peut-\u00eatre familiers avec la fa\u00e7on dont ces \u00e9motions se manifestent dans nos histoires. Mais lorsqu’il s’agit de les d\u00e9crire efficacement, des mots apparemment simples nous font souvent d\u00e9faut. Dans cet article de blog, je vais vous donner quelques conseils sur la fa\u00e7on de transmettre avec pr\u00e9cision cette \u00e9motion en utilisant un langage qui capture toute la profondeur de l’exp\u00e9rience d’oppression d’une personne. En plus d’explorer les techniques cl\u00e9s pour y parvenir magistralement par \u00e9crit, nous verrons \u00e9galement pourquoi il est important pour nous, auteurs, de faire cet effort suppl\u00e9mentaire ; apr\u00e8s tout, ce que les lecteurs ressentent \u00e0 la lecture de notre travail est important.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

L’oppression peut se manifester \u00e0 diff\u00e9rents niveaux :<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mentale<\/strong> : l’oppression au niveau mental peut se manifester sous la forme de soucis, d’angoisses et d’un sentiment de surmenage. Les personnes concern\u00e9es ont du mal \u00e0 se concentrer et \u00e0 penser clairement. Elles se sentent souvent \u00e9puis\u00e9es et br\u00fbl\u00e9es.
Emotionnel<\/strong> : l’oppression au niveau \u00e9motionnel se manifeste sous forme de tristesse, d’abattement et de d\u00e9sespoir. Les personnes concern\u00e9es se sentent souvent vides et sans espoir. Elles peuvent avoir des difficult\u00e9s \u00e0 trouver du plaisir dans des activit\u00e9s qui les rendent normalement heureuses.
Physique <\/strong>: l’oppression au niveau physique peut se manifester sous la forme de sympt\u00f4mes physiques tels que maux de t\u00eate, douleurs abdominales, tensions musculaires et troubles du sommeil. Les personnes concern\u00e9es peuvent \u00e9galement ressentir un sentiment g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de fatigue et de faiblesse.
Cognitif<\/strong> : l’oppression au niveau cognitif se traduit par une diminution des performances, notamment en ce qui concerne les capacit\u00e9s cognitives telles que la m\u00e9moire, l’attention et la r\u00e9solution de probl\u00e8mes. Les personnes concern\u00e9es peuvent avoir des difficult\u00e9s \u00e0 prendre des d\u00e9cisions et \u00e0 se concentrer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Un exemple :<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

La protagoniste Emma entend ses parents se disputer – une fois de plus. Et on dirait qu’il ne faudra pas longtemps avant que leur mariage ne se brise compl\u00e8tement. Emma est d\u00e9prim\u00e9e. Et c’est ce que l’on pourrait entendre dans le roman, en utilisant les sympt\u00f4mes \u00e9num\u00e9r\u00e9s ci-dessus :<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alors qu’Emma \u00e9tait allong\u00e9e dans son lit, les yeux riv\u00e9s sur le plafond, elle a senti une profonde fatigue monter en elle. Son corps \u00e9tait fatigu\u00e9, mais dans sa t\u00eate se bousculaient les pens\u00e9es li\u00e9es aux disputes incessantes de ses parents. Elle ne pouvait pas ignorer la tension dans l’air, les voix qui s’\u00e9levaient et les portes qui claquaient et qui semblaient r\u00e9sonner dans la maison. Son estomac se retournait avec un m\u00e9lange d’inqui\u00e9tude et de peur, et elle ne pouvait pas se d\u00e9faire de l’impression que les choses ne changeraient jamais. Elle resserra la couverture autour d’elle, esp\u00e9rant trouver un peu de r\u00e9confort dans la douceur de ses couvertures, mais m\u00eame celles-ci lui semblaient \u00e9touffantes.
