Lors de mes recherches sur le th\u00e8me des tons de peau\/couleurs de peau, je suis tomb\u00e9e sur l’ambitieux projet Humanae de l’artiste espagnole Angelica Dass<\/strong>. Elle a entrepris de constituer un catalogue de tons de peau bas\u00e9 sur la classification Pantone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le Pantone<\/strong> Matching System<\/strong> est le nom d’un syst\u00e8me de couleurs r\u00e9pandu au niveau international, principalement utilis\u00e9 dans l’industrie graphique et l’imprimerie. Pour faciliter les \u00e9changes entre les diff\u00e9rents acteurs, le syst\u00e8me attribue aux couleurs des d\u00e9signations sous forme de num\u00e9ros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Angelica Dass photographie la t\u00eate et les \u00e9paules nues<\/strong> de personnes sur un fond blanc. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la nudit\u00e9, le contexte socioculturel des personnes photographi\u00e9es devient secondaire. Pour sa base de donn\u00e9es, qui compte aujourd’hui plus de 2500 photos, elle a d\u00e9lib\u00e9r\u00e9ment demand\u00e9 \u00e0 des personnes de toutes les religions et nationalit\u00e9s l’autorisation de les photographier. Elle a photographi\u00e9 \u00ab des sourds et des aveugles, \u00e0 Rio des gens dans des favelas, \u00e0 Chicago des multimillionnaires \u00bb, raconte-t-elle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ce qui rend ces photos uniques : Pour la publication des photos, Angelica Dass colore le fond initialement blanc des photos dans la teinte qu’elle pr\u00e9l\u00e8ve sur le nez de ses mod\u00e8les. L’id\u00e9e est que le nez change de couleur le plus rapidement – sous l’effet du soleil, des changements de saison, de la grippe ou de l’alcool. Cela peut tout \u00e0 fait \u00eatre compris comme une d\u00e9claration politique : L’homme change constamment de couleur. Pourquoi donc l’encadrer selon sa couleur ? C’est cette teinte qu’elle consigne ensuite sous la photo – dans la classification Pantone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ce qui est passionnant, c’est que de cette mani\u00e8re, des personnes issues de cultures<\/strong> tr\u00e8s diff\u00e9rentes<\/strong> obtiennent le m\u00eame code Pantone<\/strong>. Angelica Dass rapporte dans une interview<\/a> qu’elle a accord\u00e9e au Spiegel <\/a>qu’il peut arriver qu’un Afro-Am\u00e9ricain et un Indien aient la m\u00eame couleur de peau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pour les auteurs, cette base de donn\u00e9es est un terrain d’entra\u00eenement id\u00e9al<\/strong>. Je travaille depuis un certain temps d\u00e9j\u00e0 sur la liste des tons de peau<\/a>, dans laquelle je rassemble des descriptions tir\u00e9es de la litt\u00e9rature et les compare \u00e0 la couleur de peau mentionn\u00e9e. De cette mani\u00e8re, j’essaie de constituer une collection de base de noms pour les diff\u00e9rents tons de peau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La deuxi\u00e8me \u00e9tape consiste bien s\u00fbr \u00e0 mettre en \u0153uvre ces descriptions sur un objet concret. Et pour cela, le projet Humanae d’Angelica Dass est extr\u00eamement utile. Si vous avez besoin d’un outil pour convertir les couleurs Pantone en valeurs<\/strong> RGB<\/strong> ou hexagonales<\/strong>, par exemple pour les faire correspondre \u00e0 ma liste de teintes de peau <\/a>, vous pouvez par exemple utiliser le logiciel gratuit Color Cop<\/a>. Comme Photoshop, cet outil permet de saisir rapidement une couleur \u00e0 l’aide d’une pipette et d’afficher la valeur de la couleur en RVB ou en hexad\u00e9cimal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pour ceux qui souhaitent faire le chemin inverse, il existe \u00e9galement un outil. Le convertisseur de couleurs de ngin.de<\/a> permet de convertir les couleurs de processus CMYK<\/strong> en couleurs Pantone correspondantes.
